Air comes out around the handle when I flush

I get a rush of air around the handle when I flush, is this normal? If not what is the fix. Thanks for your help. Bob & Peggy,

I can feel a puff of air on my hand when I actuate the handle. There is definitely some air at the base of the handle when pulled on, but not so much I would think of it as a rush. Both toilets act in exactly the same way in my coach.

I feel it too on both toilets. Since they function properly I have considered it normal. I guess a call to the company would settle whether or not it is truly normal.

Mine too and in other Newells I have been in as well by others asking the same thing. I confirmed with Newell that this is normal.

A word of caution to coach owners with Microphor toilets. If your coach has the black Headhunter water pump, the pump does not have a pressure regulator. The Headhunter pump uses a paddle wheel type device, and a time delay relay, to maintain the system pressure at around 60 PSI. If you use both the Headhunter pump, and city water pressure at the same time, you must add the two pressures toghether to determine your actual coach water pressure. e.g. add the Headhunter 60 psi to a campground water pressure of 40 psi and your total pressure at the water sequence valve in your toilet is 100 psi. This is about 20 pounds over the valves maximum rated pressure, and sooner or later you may see water running out of the bottom of the toilet (plus get a free bath when you remove the top lid).

I personally prefer to use the Headhunter pump and fill my tank as needed, versus using campground water pressure. But that's a personal call.

I do the same. I use campground pressure only to fill my tank. Headhunter provides water pressure. It is consistent and very sufficient for my needs.

I have been filling my water tank with the hookup on the right side of the black water tank. Where do you hookup to use campground pressure?

On the drivers side in the water bay is a pressure regulator with a downspout to an access port. Just hook up your hose to it. Iprefer to fill my tank (both side of coach have fill hookups) and run off my own supply and pump.

I've attached some photos. If you are going to hook up to city water & run off it you must raise the red shut off valve to the right side of your Headhunter water pump. If you don't you will fill your water tank & eventually overfill it--water comes out the vent very fast!

You know it took me almost 2 years to figure out what that valve was for!
I used to hook up to the connector at the top of the tank (which was hard to get to) to fill.

Thanks for all the help but my buddy and I had traced down all of the pipes and come to the correct answer. I have it all hooked up now and it only took 2 months for me to figure it out, I did have help from an old farmer from Canada. LOL
