series 60 exhaust tailpipe

howdy,

my coach has a straight back simple turndown tailpipe. it is not chrome and is really yukky. so when i was in fleetpride today picking up a few things a new chrome turndown 5" tailpipe spoke to me and jumped off the shelf into my arms along with a polished stainless clamp. darlene didnt believe me that it jumped into my arms but it is true....ha

it appears that my coach might have had a custom made flat rectangular exhaust pipe like my 90 has. i only think this because there is a section formed out of the bottom of the engine cover where it would be.

my question is simple, do you that have the series 60 have the turndown pipe facing straight down or do have it turned towards the drivers side?

Ours goes straight out on the drivers side. I would like ours better if it was turned down. I think it looks better!

Hi Tom,
Mine is straight out the driver side which give you a veiw of what going on. I can see the exhaust if any thing seem wrong with the D/D. It seems to keep the ramp and truck clean by coming straight out instead of turn down. Works for me

on our 2001 we have straight out triangle shape all chromed ( drive side )

newell custom made those. my 90 has a custome made rectangular tailpipe.

i suspect that mine and many others have been replaced with the round one. the rear engine bay door has a cutout at the bottom for the kind of tailpipe you have.
