I am wanting to run my Newell on either Bio diesel or Grease with a kit similar to www.greasecar.com but want to know if a kit can be made to custom fit on my Newell? What is the factorys take on running my Newell on alternative fuels and can it be done???

Thank You for your future responses.

Jeff, I would check with the manufacturer of your engine to get their advice. Unless they have changed their position in the past 6 months, most of the diesel engine manufacturers are OK with a blend of diesel and limited amounts of BioDiesel (5-10%) but not happy with the idea of running straight BioDiesel. I know that some people do run BioDiesel in their pickups. I believe Willie Nelson is running BioDiesel in his Prevost. Don't know of any Newell owner that is runnning BioDiesel.

I'm all for recycling, but I would be a little hesitant to switch to restaurant 'grease' before doing a lot of research.

Todays highway diesel is a blend that contains additives for lubricity, anti-corrosion, and cetane levels along with other elements only a chemical engineer would care to know about.

I also own a VW TDI diesel, and monitor a very active VW diesel web page called Fred's TDI @ http://forums.tdiclub.com/. I have seen a lot 'grease' enthusiast come and go, and several used 'grease' kits for sale, which makes me a little suspect. I recommend you search some of the 'fuel' threads before making the leap to 'french fry fumes'.

Personally speaking, I would be hesitant to exceed 5-10% Biofuel until more is known of its long term consequences to injectors, fuel pumps, computer sensors and lubricity- in other words 'you first'.

I've also read different stories about Bio even Green Power Waste to Fuel.
These sites will explain what is now and what should be fit in the future.
