Solar panels appear to be expensive items. Looks like a lot of variation in quality. Also have a space problem on the roof...ACs, sat, vents...etc. Maybe use multiple smaller panels?
What is the most bang for the bucks in RV solar panels? I'm interested in the negative and positive aspects of solar power.
Any info would be most appreciated!

Solar is expensive. The newer the Newell the less practical solar is as the electrical loads get higher and higher making use of the generator a necessity anyway. With the generator you recharge your batteries faster and provide all the power you need. Generators are made to run for thousands of hours without problems. Solar can be a real boon for dry camping in an older Newell with more modest electrical needs. You will pay dearly for a good solar power system and to supply substantial power to the batteries you will need large solar panels, likely more than it sounds like you have.

I am thinking along the lines of a 800 watt system. Not to large or small but somewhere in the middle.
