1 year from retirement and my wife and I are beginning the search for a motorhome. At this point I am just reading posts already written.

Welcome Jim. There are so many choices and the search is half the fun (well not half but that is the old saying). Let us know if you have any questions.

Welcome to the forum. I went through the process years ago and it seems like yesterday. Feel free to ask any questions on points that may puzzle you, we have so many knowledgeable members that can help.

While it may be too early for you, determine what style of travel you will likely contemplate, full timing, snow birding, or shorter trips many times a year.

A few points that helped us in the shopping and evaluation process and made the task somewhat easier. Take copious notes when looking at rigs, allow yourself enough time to properly check out any unit you may be interested in and I strongly recommend a camcorder to make visual and audio notes on the RV's strong points that you like and the things that it may lack to suit your specific needs. We ended up with almost two hours of video on the four rigs on our short list and we found it amazing how the mind can either forget or mix up info from one unit to the other.

We enjoyed going from dealers to shows for seven months while we shopped and as a result, we ended up at Newell

We look forward to your contributions as you go progress along,

Sean
