Looking at replacing the TV. Was thinking the LED was "better." However, read something, can't remember what it said, something about the viewing angle, reflectivity, background black--that wasn't as good as LCD.

Do you like the LED better?

Both are actually LCD's. LED type use LED to illuminate the LCD screen where as LCD uses fluorescent light to illuminate the screen. LED's tend to weight less and use less power and generate less heat. As for viewing angle and the rest that varies more by manufacturer and model than anything else. You should always go see them and look.

LED would be the lightest. Either probably would be fine, its plasmas that are heavy and have problems at high elevations.

I recently replace my 26" tube TV with a 37" Panasonic backlit LED. It fit perfectly without any major modifications.

I would look at the power consumption before I made a decision. I have a Samsung LED and it has worked out fine, just uses more power than I would like while Dry-Camping.

The nice thing about LEDs is they are so much thinner when mounted in an RV they don't stick out as far. Mine, mounted on a metal mount only protrudes 2" from the wall.

Yep.....got a 32" LED LCD that weighs 13pounds and is 1.75" thick.

No distortion or fading when viewing from different angles.

Great colors/contrast..

Walk into an electronic store and look at LED and LCd tv's. See the difference for yourself & draw your own conclusion for us the LED looked better.

I agree it depends on what's cleaner to your own eye. Check them out you'll see a difference and you can then decide what works best for you.

Can't think of any reason to choose other than LED. Maybe OLED.

LED TVs have gotten better ratings. LED TVs consume lesser power around 70% compared to Plasma TVs.

I bought a 24" LED w/DVD player that weighs under 10 lbs and uses less electricity than a 40w light bulb. It is also 12v DC native with a 120v AC adapter too. I have it hooked up in the bedroom to 12v DC so I don't have to have the inverter on. I was looking at various 32"+ for above the dash, and discovered that most of them are 19v DC native, and thought that getting a 12v DC to 19v DC adapter would probably draw less power than the 120v AC to 19v DC adapter that comes with the TV. A quick Internet search found that many laptops require 19v DC and car adapters can be found for under $10.
