What is the best product to use on tires? I have read not to use anything with petroleum distillates?

I am not a fan of this type product. There has been numerous discussions on this as well as articles. Here are a couple of links to a previous discussions, you can also use the search box for more;

From what I have read you would be much better off to simply clean the tires and use the coach. Also you should put something to insulate the tires from the asphalt if stored on it. I use do use tire covers if I am parked for more than a few days.
Remember that we should change the tires at the recommended intervals. I will begin to evaluate them again after the 5 year mark and get rid of them before the 7 year mark. Although our '82 is a 38' and not as heavy as your 40' and no where near as heavy as a 45'.

I use one of the spray foam tire cleaner/blackeners a couple times year. The ones you spray on and either just let it sit or maybe wipe with a rag. Both work OK and it makes me happy for a few days to see the tires looking like new again. But then I drive for a day or two and they look the same as always...
