I have a polarity dash indicator light on and can not get any power into my '99 Newell. Going on a 2 week trip on Friday. I just replaced my 2 engine belts which had broken but did not short out anything. Also have an indicator light on in my transfer switch. Where should I start looking? Thanks, Art

I'm no expert on this, but on my boat that light comes on usually because my shore power cord does not have a good connection at the pole.

Sounds like a connection issue and it could be with your shore power cord like what Andrew stated above. The belt thing may just be coincidental.

I found the problem that lit my polarity indicator. I was using a 12 gauge cord at my home to power a split 20 amp box. I started at the cord and found 110vac between black and green but surprise....I also found 47vac between white and ground. Boy was I baffled. Looked over at the garage wall outlet and saw that the cord was not fully seated in the outlet. Pushed it in and the 47vac was gone. All well now but still trying to figure where the neutral got that 47 volts.
