Hi All!
Has anyone installed a steering stabalizer on a older Newell? If so does anyone know what size(stroke) it would be? or even better a kit part # or any info.

My 77 coach had a steering stabilizer system on it when I bought it 10 years ago. It has an axle mounted bracket on each end connected by a pair of springs to the steering. I suspect it was helping cope with a deterioration in the steering gear. I'll have to say it didn't seem to do much good. What did make a major improvement was having the steering gear overhauled.

Hi Jon, I was looking at the safe t steer, it looks like a big shock, one end connects to the frame and the other to the tie rod, mine steers pretty good, just wind gusts etc are sometimes an issue, I have seen smaller versions of them on 4x4 trucks, they help when your in the ruts and mud. Just wondered if anyone else has tried this setup on an older Newell with good steering?

Hey Keith: mine gets blown around a bit too, mostly by passing trucks. I bought some mini-airfoils that I'm going to install near the rear once it warms up around here. Cost me about $65 so it's no big deal if there is no benefit but I have read somewhere that this may help with being pushed around by trucks in addition to reducing air drag.

Thanks for the info Jon, let me know how they work out, im sure every little bit helps, cant go wrong with the cost either. There is supposed to be a stabilizer for the rear also hendersonlineup.com (http://www.hendersonlineup.com/) supposed to be very reputable for steering and suspension for RVs.
These guys have everything you need for parts and have been at it for a while.
