Family Motor Coaching December 2007 Page 132Newell Coach Corporation announced record-breaking sales of 42 Newell luxury motorhomes for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2007. Newell is increasing production to accommodate this unprecedented demand for its new and its late-mode pre-owned coaches.

"As of October 1 (2007), we've ramped up to an annual rate of 44 new Newells," said company president Karl Blade. "Our available new-coach inventory is currently zero, and our sold-order backlog extends well into next summer."

Mr. Blade credits the advanced, innovative nature of the Newell coach for the company's record-breaking sales. Newell manufacturers its own custom body and chassis instead of using a commercial passenger bus shell, which allows the company to offer things other manufacturers cannot, such as a 12-speed automatic transmission and a steering tag axle that gives its 45-foot coach an industry-leading 37-foot turning radius.

Mr. Blade also credits the advanced exterior styling by Porsche Design for the success of Newell coaches. "Our customers appreciate the sleek, contemporary styling and quality of detail that are similar to a luxury automobile," he said. "Porsche has provided a fresh, attractive European look that has been exceptionally well-received."

Congratulations to all of our friends at Newell for this accomplishment.

Interesting in that other highline manufacturers have announced cutbacks in their production facilities. Something to be said for understanding your niche in the marketplace and doing what you do well.

I estmate that Newell is now around 1200 total coaches built. I also estimate from all the web sites including Newell's own that there are maybe 75 used coaches for sale. That's about a 6% number. I wonder how that compares to other volume manufacturers? Just a rhetorical wonder.

"I really don't understand were certain folks pick-up their 'INFO'."

RV Business, December 1, 2007
«~» Country Coach Inc., Junction City, Ore., laid off part of its work force, a move that Vice
President Matt Howard described as both "a seasonal and market adjustment."

«~» Howard said the total number employed today by the privately held firm is less than
1,400, but noted the company loses a lot of workers, particularly entry-level employees,
through attrition.

«~» "With the RV industry, they (employment levels) go up and down," added Perry. "If a
business like Country Coach left, that would be devastating. Periodic layoffs, we found, are
not uncommon with that kind of industry."

«~» Howard said the company’s "ultra high-end" models are doing well, but less expen-
sive models are under pressure. "We just need to make sure we stay healthy," he said.

«~» At present, this is the situation that I've been reading from different sources of 'RV
Manufacturers:' The 'Big Ticket Rvs' are doing good, the 'Entry Level' are also doing
good, it's the 'Middle Class' that is suffering.

«~» 'Newell Coach:' a 'RV Manufacturer' offering 'Pre-Owned Newell Coaches.'

«~» Now if someone wanted to compare 'Newell Coach' with 'Others,' well I guess they'll
have to compare to these :
Marathon Coach, Featherlite Coaches, Liberty Coach, Millennium Luxury Coaches all perfor-
ming well even if their coaches have a price tag ranging from 1.7 million to well over 2 million
dollars that is almost double the price of a 'Newell Coach'. . . or am' I mistaken ?
