Anyone using Windows 8? How do you like it? I don't know if I should upgrade my computer.

The reviews that I've read indicate that if you're using a touch screen monitor or tablet it will enhance your experience, if you're still using a keyboard and mouse not so much.

I bought a new laptop and it has Win 8 on it. If I could have found one in stock that has 7 I would have preferred Windows 7. I found it is useable after installing a free program: Classic Shell (Welcome to Classic Shell (http://www.classicshell.sourceforge.net)). No way I would voluntary upgrade Windows 7 to 8.

I guess this is called technology moving forward. Seems like every release after XP has been disappointing to the masses. A friend of mine wife got a new laptop with 8 & she said it was like her phone & worked fine He can't use use it at all.
In 1980 I was given a Apple Lisa that was on Beta test. It had this new fangled contraption called a mouse. Boy if this wasn't stupidest device I had ever scene, IT WILL NEVER CATCH ON

I hope my laptop lasts for a while because I don't want to go through having to learn windows 8. I was helping a friend set up their new laptop that had windows 8 and it was really different and complicated.

Why does microsoft have to change windows so radically when they come out with a new version?
I'm on win 7 with 2 laptops, have xp on my netbook for VMSPC. But I'm really thinking hard of going to Apple next time. That's what microsoft is trying to do anyway, make windows look like Apple. They just can't seem to get it right, each new iteration is even more complicated. When they changed Office to make it non-compatible with older versions that sent me running to open-office.

Historically every other version of Windows has been a less than desirable 'improvement'. Remember Vista and the Millennium Versions? XP and Win 7, on the other hand were very good. Let's hope MS gets it right the next time.
