Good day, my wife and I are aggressively looking into buying our first luxury coach. ($400-500K budget). So here come the newbie questions......
When buying used; trying to get one 2005 and up, newer the better...other than checking for leaks, water marks/stains, A/C & heat operations, etc.. what else should be looked over?

What about when it comes to title and registration. I'm looking for "title on hand" type of purchase. Other than making sure the VIN matches the title, what other gotcha's should I be looking for?
We were told to look at Foretravel, Prevost or Newell brand , what other brands if any are reputable out in the market....

We plan on hitting the Florida State parks several times a year; plus I can use it during hunting season law's permitting. Perhaps even venture up to GA, etc and visit other parks..

Thank you for your time....

Great site!

Welcome Eddy! I'm a newbie to luxury motorcoaches and we are looking into maybe getting an older Newell. We previously owned a 5th wheel so this is a whole new ball game if you know what I mean. :) You will find the people here to be very friendly and helpful.

Welcome Eddy!! I would take a trustworthy diesel mechanic with you to look over a coach. You will find this forum and it's members are a great big help too. You can take a look here - Motorcoach Service Centers (http://www.luxurycoachlifestyle.com/forum/motorcoach-service-centers/) as well.

Welcome to the forum Eddy. I'm sure that just about everyone on this forum will agree that buying a coach from the Newell factory is absolutely the safest way. Currently they have several 2005 models in stock, and one has been marked down to where it fits your budget. Coach #729 - Newell Coach (http://www.newellcoach.com/newell-coaches/coach-729/)

Welcome Eddy,

Keep in mind that the tires on a several-year-old RV often look good because mileage is low, but they have aged just the same. You can determine the tire age by checking the DOT date code on the sidewall. I noticed you mentioned Foretravel & Foretravel is a very nice coach although some don't consider them in the same classification as Newell or Prevost they are still luxury and very well constructed. Last time I was at Newell having service work done I was told by Brian that a customer recently came in and traded their new 3 month old Foretravel in on a new Newell Coach because they did not know what Newell was. Take a look at all 3 and pick which ever has the floor plan you want.

:welcome:Eddy to the luxury coach lifestyle! Sounds like you are already looking at the top brands out there. You will have to narrow it down to your style and taste. There are also Wanderlodges by the now defunct Bluebird company, which is quite a shame, but they are still a great option of a coach as well. We are very happy to help you out anyway we possibly can. Definitely look at the Newell Coach factory and the unit NewellCrazy mentioned appears to be a dandy coach, it would surely come with as factory certified warranty which is tough to come by on luxury liners. While there are the Prevost converters with the best reputations going to Liberty Coach, Featherlite, Millennium, Outlaw, and Marathon. The MCI Conversions are mainly done by Walker Coach. You also mentioned Foretravel, which is built down in Texas and they are probably the better choice in composite sided coaches.

Welcome Eddy! Hope you find the coach of your dreams. It doesn't have to be a Newell to hang out with us here. But if you do happen too purchase one, You Rule!

Welcome to LCL forum! Myself, I am biased I'll only own Newells where others have owned every type of luxury coach imaginable. In the end it doesn't matter what luxury coach brand you choose, They each build quality products and that's what matters.
