2004 Ford F150 Pickup

I would like to tow my 2004 F-150. I don't want to use a drive-line disconnect. Does anyone have any ideas on chip removal or replacement that would allow free wheel towing? I've seen other Ford vehicles utilizing this but I cannot find anyone that knows how to do this. If any of you have a suggestion or know of someone that I can contact I would be very appreciative! Jim, I would check with Ford they should be able to tell you how without damaging anything.:thumbup:

Jim, did you speak with Ford, if so, what did they tell you?

Pull the shaft OR just tow it from the rear if your using a dolly might be easier to get a dolly if your not using one.that way you dont have to crawl under the truck.also if you pull the drive shaft you need to plug the tail shaft.Either get a yoke from a boneyard and slide it in or stop at a trans shop and get a plug that usually comes with the new trans when shipped. In the end I think a dolly and towing from the rear is the easiest.

I use a car hauler trailer, I can take whatever vehicle, but it is a little heavier. I like it.

I prefer a trailer as long as the weight is not an issue. Keith is right about hauling whatever you want.

Well I had to go over to my Ford dealers for a recall anyway so I asked several of them if they were aware of how to do this and everyone of them told me to go to a different place and check with someone! After I got home I called Ford Customer Service and gave my life's history....still don't understand why all of that was necessary...to the C.S.Rep, she informed me that they could not give any information that was not in the Handbook and there is nothing in the Handbook about "Towing Behind A Motorhome" SOOOOOO, my answer seems to be NO you cannot tow behind your motorhome!! Thanks guys for all of your suggestions though! I was just hoping to find an easy answer but as always that usually is not the solution!

You can tow it on a dolly, why not go that route?

Sean - You are right about the dolly and I've also been thinking about getting a trailer that I can haul one of my classic cars in. Another decision to be made!
