On my coach there is a remote start switch in the engine compartment. There is also a safety toggle switch next to the remote start switch.

Ever wonder how it works?

With the safety switch in the DOWN position, the ignition key should NOT start the engine nor will the rear starter switch start the coach. This is to prevent someone from accidentally starting the engine while the engine is being worked on.

With the safety switch in the UP position the remote start can be used to start and stop the engine. There is a warning on mine to make sure that the parking brake is on and that the transmission is in neutral before using the rear starter. With the safety in the UP position you can start and stop with the ignition key.

If someone accidentally puts the safety switch in the DOWN position, you will not be able to start the coach with the ignition key.
