ignition switch replacement

I am trying to replace ignition on rv, i have removed the steering wheel and cannot seem to remove the second part..i have found this type of steering column on corvettes, this one has me baffeled...is there a special tool to remove this? i removed the nut and the inside screw and i then inserted my special screw into shaft and cannot get this to budge...any help would be encouraging...thanks george

It sounds like this may well be the tilt wheel GM column, with ignition switch, made by Saginaw and used by Newell for many years. If so, virtually any General Motors dealer has the tools and expertise to service this column.
