The genset in my 1990 Newell is overheating due to the cooling fan shutting down after a minute or so of operation regardless of the temp showing on the gauge. I was of the understanding that the fan was controlled by a thermo switch set for 170 degrees. I would like to know location of the switch in order to check if it is operating correctly. Any information would be very much apprecitated. Thank you.

12.5 kohler generator The thermal switch is located within the motor and we understand that the switch cannot be repaired or replaced short of replacing the motor assembly. We have the motors in stock. Call Newell parts at 1-888-3NEWELL.

Did you ever find that replacing the motor fixed the problem?
