From Newell News:

Newell Coach now offers motorhomes with a custom slide-out entertainment island that includes the top-of-the-line Evo Affinity 25E Cook Top. The Affinity 25E's flat-top surface provides an open platform that gives cooks more flexibility and control, and helps create a safe, sociable cooking space where guests can congregate.

Miami, OK, August 13, 2008 - Newell Coach, the top-selling manufacturer of motorcoaches priced at $1 million and above, has added the Evo Affinity 25E Cook Top to its custom-built motorcoach slide-out entertainment island. The island also includes options such as an audio system, LCD flat-screen television, a refrigerator, and a countertop workspace.

The Affinity creates an outdoor cooking space and social experience that compliments the lifestyle of Newell motorcoach owners perfectly
The Affinity 25E's electronically controlled cooking surface eliminates the smoke and dangerous flare-ups of traditional, open-grate grills. Its separate inner and outer cooking zones allow temperatures to vary from the center to the outer edge. And its LCD display shows the set and actual temperatures at both zones. These features give cooks more flexibility and control.

"The Affinity creates an outdoor cooking space and social experience that compliments the lifestyle of Newell motorcoach owners perfectly," says Bob Shingler, CEO of Evo.

Newell Coach President, Karl Blade, couldn't offer a stronger endorsement of the product; he uses the Affinity 25E in his home kitchen.
"My personal experience using Evo products led me to the Affinity," says Blade. "With its high style, easy cleaning, cooking versatility, and electric heater, I knew it was perfect for our coaches and customers."

Newell brought that coach with the cook top to the National RV supershow in Tampa last weekend. I went on Saturday and there was a 10 person deep line to see that Newell from 9am to 6pm nonstop. The Newell rep said he never saw it so busy. They were also pushing their used inventory Newells. Its funny, there were Prevost coaches everywhere, but the one Newell they bring every year is always the hit of the show.

Does anyone know if the Evo cooktop can be added to an older coach?

How much do they cost?

According to EVO's 2008 Price List, the 25E Professional without the slideout cabinet that encloses it, is $12,277.04.

I don't see any reason it could not be put into a Newell with a large enough slide out with a properly constructed cabinet.

EDIT: The price for the 25E Elite that Newell uses appears to be $5,999.

I did a little search to just learn more about the unit. I saw prices of about 6000 for just the outdoor unit. That would not include any of the mechanism to slide it in and out.

I just cannot get my head around grilling that close to the coach. It has to coat the area around the grill with grease.

I think I'll stick with my little Coleman grill to go, and the propane tank.

In keeping with my lotech ways I utilize a 3 burner CampChef stove to cook outdoors when we're in one location for a number of days. It comes with a "Grill Box" that sits on top of 2 of the burners, and is really a great BBQ. In addition to that it comes with a large griddle that also sits on top of 2 burners for cooking pancakes, bacon, etc. Here are a few pix.

For quick overnighters I use a SeaBQue (marine BBQ) that came with the coach. There is a quick release LP hookup in my "pass through" storage compartment that enables me to hookup up the Sea-B-Que and be grilling in just a few minutes.

My son has a CampChef, and my brother has one, and so does my son's inlaws, so when we're out as a group we can cook up a storm, and food, too...LOL!

ok, now we are moving wayyyy down from the 20k bay bbq.

here is my homemade pullout bbq. the silver is all stainless and the top and inside where the cookgrill sits is all stainless.

the white is a foldout corian cutting board.

and richard, no problem with bbq'ng next to the coach. at least for us.

and yes, this is really my coach.

Maybe we could give away an EVO 25E as a door prize for the rally in Austin @ LaHacienda RV park.

I'll bet that would increase attendence!

Tom,

That is SWEET !!!!!!! Did you build that?

Another project just got added to the list :-)

I see you have more room from your grill to the coach that what it looks like in the pictures of the EVO. The slideout seems to be just above that grill.

Great idea Tuga, do you think that someone would be nice enough to donate it (hint, hint).

Richard, it appears that the prices I quoted were for the 'commercial series' rather than the 'elite series'. The Elite 25E does appear to be $6,000. Evo describes the 30G (LP or NG) at $4,465 as outdoor and the 25E as indoor but since all-electric coaches typically carry no propane, the electric model makes sense.

I might tend to put the street-side salon slide in before using that grill myself.

Tom, that is really a great addition to your coach. Did you have that when we saw you in Newport?

clarke, yes it was there last summer.

as i got to looking at the pictures michael posted of the 20k bbq, i noticed there was a stereo and lcd tv built in it too. the tv is at the end and only a few inches away from the cooking surface.

i am wayyyy too sloppy of a bbq'r to have the screen of my lcd tv within inches and below my bbq grill.

one of my other thought projects is to put a 32" or bigger tv in one of the front bays on a slide in and tilt mount. i already ran new coax and cat5e there to be ready for it. but pretty low on my list for now.
