The ISX is the only one of those that meets the current Federal Emission Standards so that is what Newell currently uses. Newell uses the 650 HP/1950 lb-ft torque version. The Detroit Series 60 is a long term proven engine, typically 500 HP and 1650 lb-ft torque. Newell used this as their primary engine from late 1994 models through 2005. In 2005 Newell started using the C-15. The Cat C15 was rated at 625 HP and 2050 lb-ft torque with the ZF transmission or 1850 lb-ft torque (later 1900) if the Allison transmission was used. Newell used the C15 until the middle of the 2011 models. Typical disclaimer that there were coaches built with other engines (such as C13's) or other horsepower versions on an individual basis but the majority of Newells were outfitted as above. As the weights of Newells have continued to climb, more HP and torque are always welcome.
