Hi John,

the Flashing E "over-temp" fault code is probably accurate, with the inverter/charger automatically protecting itself against damage from overheating. Finding the proper location for the inverter/charger involves a compromise. To provide cooling to minimize or preclude E-3 shutdown incidents during hot weather operation, the inverter/charger could be located in an air conditioned space within the interior of the coach. However, this is "prime real estate." In addition, the inverter/charger often makes some noise, buzzing as it charges or inverts. Newell has chosen to locate the inverter/charger in an exterior storage compartment, realizing that this may occasionally result in an overtemp shutdown. However, Newell believes that few owners would want this component installed inside the coach. One issue to check: make sure that miscellaneous items are not packed too tightly around the inverter/charger. The unit needs to freely ventilate.
