I have always carefully scraped the old out with either a standard screwdriver that fit nicely or I have another trim tool that offers a cupped head that worked really well. Then I would reseal with a good quality automotive seam-sealer like 3-M or a like product. You can buy these products from an RV store, auto body and paint supply or online.

Now there is a new 600 Peal n' Stick product by 3M I was thinking of trying sometime on an RV lacking a drip rail. This type of product won't ever need re-sealing. Here is the info on it:

Drip Rail is a flexible plastic peel n' stick rain gutter that eliminates time consuming installation of aluminum rain gutters.

  • Easy install of 3M Acrylic Automotive Grade Foam Tape
  • Bonds above windows on your truck, car, RV, or boat to channel off water.
  • Eliminate streaks from dew and drizzle.
  • Controls water runoff.
