Dave is real close as the ones I have measured of like years seem to be right at 79" so that would give you about 7" to spare. Of course where the bunks are, you will have a difference but should be fine. Out of the dozens of Newell's I have been in, I have only seen a couple that seemed to have shorter roofs and I'm not even sure why they were built? Many Newell owners I have met are over 6 foot and don't seem to have a problem. I guess that would be a "pro" for the basement air as well.
