«~» This past weekend, in an interview with the 'Wall Street Journal,' oil tycoon
(T.) Boone Pickens predicted that the price of oil would average $70 a barrel
this year with only occasional dips.

«~» Why? Eighty-five million barrels a day are about as much as the world
can produce at this point, his research says, with oil-sand deposits in Canada
providing a hopeful buffer. The world’s demand for oil is about 85 million barrels
a day. Pickens sees this tight demand as impetus for alternative energy sources.

«~» He would put his money on ethanol: ''Bob Dole' once told me that there are
42 senators from farm states and that pretty much means the government is
going to be in ethanol.'
