I have 83 38ft/6v92. With key off, you have no instrumation working, no oil press-engine temp etc. driving blind from the engine view. Won't hurt the alternator, but might not warn of engine damage. Mine is equipted with leece neville 160 amp, which I had rebuilt to 270amp at the local auto electric shop. Then I replaced the merge solinoid with one capable of handling 400 amps. Added an 8d agm in the engine bay, close to the starter for coach power and put the 4 house 8d agms in the two small bays in front of the rear wheels. Installed a 2500 watt tripp-lite inverter and away we go. this project is not for everyone, as the wiring can be quite dangerous, lota of power in an 8d battery. hope this helps, dwatts
