You can get a good quality foam mattress. For $500-$1,000. We have one and like it a lot better. Than the old spring mattress that we had. The odor lasted for a whole 10 minutes. After the mattress expanded it was gone.

As a matter of fact we slept on it that night. When we laid down it was comfortable. However when I woke up in the morning I felt like I had been hit by a truck! Leeann wasn't much better. This went on for a little over a week. But the soreness did stop. I think our bodies were adjusting from the springs to the foam.

Anyway the moral of the story is that we had it for about 3 months. Before our bodies were adjusted. Now we couldn't imagine not having it. I kick myself for not buying a foam mattress sooner. If you have been to a mattress store. Then you know that spring mattress cost the same as a foam.
