On my 88 I have an air line going into the tank with a shut off valve, and an other line that is going to the breather valve on top of the tank with a shut valve. I also have a Graco control valve for setting the quanity of oil that will enter the engine. Following is the steps to do it without any messy problems.
1.Turn the shut valve going to the breather valve on top of the tank to the off position.
2.Turn the shut valve for the air line going into the tank to the on position.
3.Set the quanity of oil you want to go into the engine and squeeze the trigger.

After this is done make sure that you turn the shut off valve on the air line off first.
I then put a rag over the breather valve and slowley open that shut off valve to release the preasure in the tank.

NOTE: If you open the breather shut off quickley you will all preasurized oil to be blown all over the compartment and have a real mess.
Once you so this it will make sense not be so complicated as it sounds.

I suspect that the coaches newer than the ones we have most likley have a less complicated way to it, due to the fact that Newell has always made things better as time went on.
