Since I used to have Airstreams, I have more experience with Thetford fittings then the more common Valterra fittings. I personally think the Thetford fittings are somewhat more robust than the Valterra fittings but are more difficult to find. There are Thetford to Valterra conversion fittings but I generally find them some susceptible to leaking so I just use the Thetford fittings.

As Tom said, find a source and buy a few extras. You only need the Thetford fitting on the one end but I have never seen a 'thread-on' Thetford fitting. They all require a hose clamp to attach them firmly, at least until they are well used and become somewhat cemented on to the hose.
