John,
You should be able to pull the handle straight out. The cable is attached to a "dog" on the other end. When pulled, the dog slips up out of it's locking position and the generator will slide out. You will need supply air pressure, as the slide is operated by an air cylinder. If stuck it may need a gentle tug on the bottom of the cover in the front of the coach. The red knob on the "palm" valve is what operates the air cylinder when the cable lock handle is pulled out.
