I have a Question about wide body Newell's?
When Newell went to the wide body coach, were all of those made from that point forward 102" wide or did they still build a 96" model? What is the easiest way to reckonize the wider body coach? Is there a way to tell without physically measuring one?

Not sure what year but I believe was in the mid-late 80's. Newell added a center section to the split windshield when they went to 102" wide.
So in the classics the 6" center section in the windshield is the give away.

Forest is correct, the 6" center section in the windshield is the the give away. 1986 was the first year that Newell offered the 102" wide body, and that was an option. The standard Newell was still the 96".

Ok, I remember what looked like a 6" strip of glass dividing the right and left windshields. I have not looked at anything older than a 1987. So, it sounds like Newell has always offered the 96" wide like a lot of bus manufacturers with 102" being an option. I'm wondering if on the newer grasshopper look if the same thing applies?
Thanks for all the great information.
