12.5kw kohler generator with yanmar diesel coolant?
hi, just got the service manual and it doesnt say if i should use standard coolant or put an additivie in the coolant. does anyone know if i just use standard green coolant in the generator engine? i am going to do a full service and am going to change the thermostat. btw, i had to get from yanmar the thermostat specs. it starts to open at 160 degrees and fully opens at 185 degrees...
thanks
tom

Tom, use the same coolant in the genset you use in the 8V92. Make sure you either use coolant that has the chemicals for diesel engines or add the chemicals. I always use distilled water. The coolant from Detroit Diesel is about $11/gallon and mixes 50/50 with water.
