Default Hot wire for cove lights

I needed to replace a couple of the rocker switches just rear of the entry door. After installing them I noticed the the 3 wire @ the switch for the cove lights are very warm, 126F to be exact.
Is this normal? This circuit is for the 4 flourscent light on both sides up front.

I haven't shot my switches with a temp gun but they are certainly hot after being on for a while. I have 5 fluorescent cove lights and they do heat up that switch to the point of being uncomfortable.
