Default Pick up our Newell Saturday!

Hello Everyone! :-)

We pick up our first ever coach on Saturday and it is a Newell 1988. In really good shape or we think it is. This is something new to us both as far as a RV. From everything I have read we made a really good choice. We will just be taking short rips and vacations in ours. Hubby still works and will be some years before retirement but we plan on enjoying it every chance we get. We are from Oklahoma. Will be doing reading here and hopefully learn allot! :-) This is a new experience for us.

Congratulations, I have an 88 as well and we are fulltimers living in it for the past year. You can get all the help you need right here on the web-site. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask, I have done a lot on my coach and most things are quite simple to do.

Is this the '88 that was in the Tulsa, OK Cragslist? (http://tulsa.craigslist.org/rvs/1369054334.html)

If you think you love your coach now, you will be amazed every time you use the coach as you will find new things, will be amazed by the quality of materials, and thoughtfulness of the builders. Not only will you learn much by visiting this forum, but eventually you will make friends. You have joined an amazing community of really special people. Welcome, and enjoy!!!

Welcome to the gang.

Don't be afraid to ask anything. The forum is here to help, not intimidate. The only dumb question is the one you don't ask.

Post some pics as soon as you can.

Tell us about your journey and why you picked a Newell. Not disputing your judgement, just like to hear other folks thoughts.

Summersgal,

Welcome to the forum. Hope we can help answer some questions or at least point you in the right direction.

When you get a chance please go to User CP on the blue menu; then go to Edit Signature. Here you can enter your name, year and length of your Newell, kind of engine, and what kind of the tow vehicle your are towing. Then each time you post your signature will appear automatically.

The reason for this is that it helps some of the other members to advise you when discussing your Newell. You can take a look at some of the other members and see that they even add the coach # of their Newell. The coach # is the last 3 digits of the VIN.

Enjoy that Newell; there's nothing like traveling in a Newell. Glad to have you aboard.

I live in north Okc. There are two other Newells in my neighborhood and one other that I'm aware of and didn't know if there might be someone new coming to the area! Enjoy your coach, there truly is nothing like a Newell.

OK We picked up our Newell Saturday and love it! Cleaning it this week.
I was reading on the build number and I looked on title and my last 3 numbers are 003. Could that be right?

Nope, the coach number wasn't incorporated into the last three number of the VIN until 1990 models. Look on the inside of panels, any original paperwork the coach might still contain, etc for something that lists a number, likely in the 156-181 range.

The first Newell to carry the 'coach number' in its VIN was 214.

You can create your own album, and/or you can attach up to 3, or 4 on your post. Just click on the "Go Advanced" tab below and then scroll down and click on "Manage Attachments". Looking forward to seeing some pictures of your '88!
