engine swap
I'm planning an engine swap in my 74 from a Cat 1160 to a 3208 turbo. Looking for anyone who has been there. Specific concerns are: is there enough room for the turbo and exhaust pipes without cutting into the firewall, the accessories mount differently on the 1160 as the 3208. Any info is appreciated. I would post the question on the Yahoo Group CatRVClub. Brett Wolfe is the president of the Club and extremely knowledgeable about Cat engines in RV's. He has a Foretravel but the info you need involves dimensions as much as anything else.

I'm interested in what you found out.
Hey John,
Don't know if you remember but I have the same engine your switching from and I know I'll need to switch out some day too. So if you don't mind pass on what you find out.
Good Luck and Thanks,

John, I spoke to you awhile back I have a 1974 with 1160 engine and the problem I can't explain in writing. A broken wire in the engine area in front of the big air filter. Would you kindy call me. 303-502-7494.
