OK...today was the day to install the new window awning on the driver's side of the coach over the kitchen and shower windows. I ordered an 8 foot awning, but should have ordered an 8 1/2 foot awning. Nevertheless, it turned out well. With Elaine's help it took about 2 hours to mount the brackets and awning. Here are some pix....
The ZipDee window awning came in a tube about 8.5 feet long (see picture of tube leaning against outside of garage. It cost about $48 to shipping for UPS ground. The instructions were very clear and easy to understand, especially when Elaine was reading them to me.

And the final picture of the awning fully deployed....I was amazed that I could still get the same exact sunbrella fabric pattern. When all three awnings on the driver's side are deployed you cannot tell which is the old one and which is the new. There are NO signs of aging in the 27 year old fabric on the original 2 window awnings on the driver's side. Simply amazing. The hardware is identical. The only real difference is that they supply pop rivets to attach the hardware.

She won't climb up the side!
I have to find an easier way to get on the roof of the coach. It's not that easy for me to use the rock climbing steps on the side and Pam refuses to even try.
Will this 12.5FT TELESCOPING LADDER allow/reach access to the roof? I am looking for a ladder that I can use to not only reach things on the sides of the coach but also tall enough when placed at a safe angle to allow me to get on the roof. I can not tell by the pictures if the end caps are rubber or hard plastic, to protect against scratching.
Thank you everyone for all the great information in this forum
Jeff

the 12.5 foot will allow you to get on the roof just fine.

Be Careful When Using Telescoping Ladders
Just a warning: please be careful when using these 12.5 telescoping ladders. I had a friend who fell because his telescoping ladder was not properly LATCHED in the open position. When he put his weight on it while climbing up the step collapsed and he fell off breaking his ankle.
His warning is this: make sure that ALL OF THE RUNGS ARE EXTENDED FULLY AND ARE IN THE LOCKED POSITION. He suggests putting one foot on the bottom rung and pulling up with both hands on the next highest rung. As you move to the next highest rung you will need to almost lay the ladder flat on the ground. It takes a little manuvering but it is worth it to make sure that all of the rungs snap open and stay open.
Please be careful. I have a 12.5 telescoping ladder, and I love it. But since his accident, I am really careful.

It probably is not as compact while folded but I like my Werner folding ladder. I can reach the roof and it can function as a step ladder for working around the sides of my coach $69.00 at Lowes.

The great thing about the telescoping ladder is that you don't have to extend it fully. You also use it as a step ladder, and I do, often. I use it to clean the front windshields, and side windows. It takes up way less pace than my old 3 step folding ladder I got at Home Depot.
