Default Dometic 2820 power consumption

i should have done this before i ripped out my dometic 2820 propane and 110v fridge. i am trying to compare what power the propane fridge uses in comparison to the all electric fridge i am putting in. i know the all electric one uses 2amp 110v at startup settling right down to .9-1.0amp when the compressor is on. of course, much less when compressor is not runnng.

the dometic manual only shows what size 12v breakers to have for the heating unit and controls. they are 3a and 5a. it doesnt tell you what size 110v breaker to have to run the fridge on AC.

i am just wondering what the real delta is. has any of you measured the dc and ac current draw on the dometic?

thanks

tom

Tom:
I talked to a Dometic technical advisor and was told if the light was on the 2820 would draw less than .5 volt DC and if the heating element was on it would draw 5 amps AC.
Don't know if this helps as I don't have one to measure.
Thanks

We just got back from some dry-camping and I can tell you that the only power that our Fridge uses is what the LPG Monitor Panel and Solenoid would draw. I have been trying to look this up but I may just have to measure the draw next time I am at the coach, I am curious as well.
From what I have been reading the LPG shut off is no longer a ANSI RV Standard. I still think that it is a good safety practice and will continue to use the power.

I measured the amperage at the LPG Monitor Panel yesterday at .16 amp. This Panel also energizes the Solenoid so it looks like the draw is minimal.
Hope this helps.
