Newell Coach Shower Drain Is This Normal
When I look into the shower drain I can see water about 2 inches into the drain pipe. Is this normal? Or is it starting to get backed up in the pipes. I'm not having any problems with the drain but I just want to make sure I'm not gonna have a problem later.

There may be a trap there. Our '82 simply has a 90 degree elbow, not sure about the newer rigs.

I agree with Steve, My guess is what you see is the water in the "P" trap. It is normal. They aren't as far below the floor as in a home.
You could always pop off the drain cover and lower a straw or a small metal tube down there. If it stops a few inches below the water you know it is the "P" trap.
As a side note, I have a pair of tweezers a foot long. Big honkin' tweezers. Periodically in the house and in the newell I pop off the drain covers and pull out the hair and guck that is trapped down there.
