Slide Problem
My coach has the triple slide floorplan with two in the rear and one up front. I picked my coach up Tuesday at Newell and used it all weekend with no problems. When i get home, i go to slide it out, my passenger side rear slide will not open. The hydraulic motor runs, but the slide dosent move. I hated to call Newells 24hr. hotline because it isnt an emergency. I just need to get it fixed before Thursday because i leave for Destin!

Has the bladder deflated? If so, the solenoid valve in the hydraulic system may have failed. If it fails, the pump runs but the hydraulic will not be diverted to the slide.

Looks like your extend solenoid went out. If you change that solenoid your problems will be over.
I had a similar problem with my rear and front slides. The pin locking solenoids were old and were dragging. Tommy Key suggested changing both of them and everything has worked fine ever since. They are easy to change. Call Newell Service Monday morning and they will walk you thru it.
I keep a spare solenoid on board just in case one fails in the "out" position. Write down the procedure for changing a solenoid and keep it in the bay that houses your solenoid bank. Its easy to change one; about 10 minutes.

Tuga, thanks for the info. i have 2 other problems that i need to get fixed before i leave on my trip friday: the ABS light is on above the drivers seat at the driver center. Im almost positive it just came on because i do not recall it ever being on. The other problem is driving home, my generator randomly shut of 4 times. Newell just replaced the sending unit for the temperature so i know its not overheating. Im debating whether to drive up to Newell tonight and see if the can fix these items tomorrow morning, or try to get them fixed myself.

does anyone know what ABS system Newell uses? is it Bosch?
ABS is certainly a wonderful thing to have. I don't have it on my older coach. I would not be super worried about the ABS unless that light is a signal of something else being wrong as well (but that is only me). The ABS system should not stop normal brake operation.
But having the genny running would be high on anyones list.

The ABS light comes on in my coach when the humidity is high. After the humidity drops and the air is dryer the light goes out. It has been doing this for 4 years! I wouldn't worry about the ABS light if I were you.
My generator did the same thing yesterday morning. I found that the fuel/water separator drain screw was loose. I tightened it up (about 5 turns) and the generator has been running smoothly for the last 24 hours! I'm not saying that is your problem but it could be.
If you drive up to Newell tonight look me up; my Newell is a 1999 and is white with black,gold, & sliver accents.

I would recommend having the ABS looked at by someone that knows electronic brake systems.
The generator could be one of several issues. First, check the oil level. There is an oil pressure switch that will shut down if the oil level is low and moves away from the oil pickup under certain conditions, such as hills, curves, etc, that force the oil away from the pickup. If the oil level is full, it could be the pressure switch itself.
The fuel pump for the generator could be shorting out also. Check all the wiring connections for any loose fittings. The fuel filter could be plugged but it would have to be VERY plugged to shut down the generator.

I talked to Cresly earlier and he said that it could be a number of things with the slide. I guess im going to leave Okc around 6 and drive up there. He said they were very busy tomorrow, so i guess im going to leave my coach and pick it up Friday on my way to Florida. My name is Andrew, I am 17. Its actually my dad Toms coach.

The spots are first come first serve, but you should be able to snag a spot. We were there in April and there were half a dozen spots available.

When i was there last week, they only had 2 spots open. They said last week they were dead and this week they were saying they were full, so i was wondering if i was going to have to park on the front line maybe, or around on the side.

I talked to Newell today, and after talking to Michael and Tuga, I was almost sure the slide solenoid had gone out. Turns out, my circuit board is bad, so Newell is trying to get there hands on one of those to see if that will make the room run.

Just got off the phone with Newell. He said they have had two men on my coach for 20 hrs. and they cant figure the slide problem out. Apparently the circuit board wasnt it. They said after i return from Florida, the are going to have to take the coach to HWH in Iowa to see if the can find a problem.......

The hydraulic pump was not producing enough pressure to reach the rear slide. It finally got where the front and the drivers side rear would move very slow, and take along time to move. Newell called Monday and said they have it fixed.

Well, went and picked up the coach today. When I pulled the rooms in at Newell everything worked great. When I got about a mile from there, the slide pin was really squealing bad, so i stopped at the casino and ran out the room. It ran perfect, however I noticed that the hydraulic pump did not have the back wind. I assumed since my old pump was bad, thats why it did it. Got back to Okc, and went to roll out the rooms. The front and the drivers side bedroom went out just fine. When I put out the passenger side rear slide, the floor would not raise once the slide was out. I tried to bring it in and nothing..... I went back to the front of the coach and ran the front slide in with no problems. I ran it again, and now, it as well as my other two are stuck! None of the floors will raise, so I called Newell. Cresly said they were out of ideas. He said they are going to have to get in touch with HWH and have them come to me, because I cant roll any rooms in or out. I think this problem has gotten the best of all of us....
