Default Wiper Motor

Jeff took out the wiper motor and worked it over and still not working right.
I was wondering if anyone has a contact of where and who I can talk with to see if I can get a new one.

Called Newell and and they are saying that it is no longer available. He is checking to see if they may have one left or not in stock but I am not holding my breath!

So if anyone has any info I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks
Pam

Pam,
I would call these people. They supply windshield wiper systems to many manufacturers.

RAIN-X, even in a driving rain this stuff and others like it work, if properly applied......FACT!

Jeff and Pam,

If you have isolated the problem to the motor then great.

However, if the problem is that the wiper is sticking, then the idler part part of the parallel arm assembly is notorious for wearing out and causing the assembly to bind. Look at this post http://www.newellclassic.com/forum/s...ighlight=wiper

Hello Richard,

Thanks for the reply, I had actually read your post and followed what you did. I also had a lot of rust and corrosion around the dummy arm. I cleaned and polished it and the main shaft, new grease and O-rings also. This did help but did not correct my problem. All voltage checks fine, the issue is no matter what speed, the motor will not start without help. Once started it will stay running. It looks like one of the brush holders is broken. I felt that since it was such a pain to get out (and put back) I would just replace the motor instead of trying to fix it.

Jeff
