You have got to be kidding, right? Another contest? I didn't think you folks were up for that. Honestly, I love contests and the site would love to offer one from time to time. In fact, with some help, I would be willing to put something much larger together if folks were halfway excited about it. Some might think anything of the sort is craziness, but hey I'm out of my mind anyways.

We have a couple big players whom would boost something like this if the interest is there. Maybe some free tires or tanks of diesel???? or ????? Anyone interested?

If you start offering free tires or a tank of diesel, I won't tell you how I cheated and grab my prize

I want an explanation of why this 1998 has more pulleys than other 1998 coaches?

Jon, because that engine is special! Have you heard the term "Hooked Up". I bet you would like to transplant that engine and trans in replace of another???? This was actually my next photo believe it or not. Obviously you can see the direction I'm going with this one. You're damn good, my friend!

I think a monthly or bi-monthly contest would not only be interesting but also educational. I'm certain we could come up with some real testers, just like the one Jon just asked! Count me in!

Is that engine a 60 series? Why would it have additional belts and pulleys. I wonder what a nice customized coach like this would cost?

Folks, we will start working on ideas for more contest as with some sponsors willing to ad to the fun. We'll start another post with more details probably up under the site improvements area or something after we think out our best course of action.

Larry, we'll count you in and thanks again and again for being such a great participant, sport and supporter.

I forgot to mention, that engine in the post above is the one out of this 1998 coach. I have actually never completely lifted the veil on this coach and should probably share some additional pictures.

Some of you will be in for more of a surprise while a couple of you will not.

More pictures coming.

I think you should have shown the electric grill on the pull out tray in the bay.

There you go! I had been eying that one but didn't know if it made any sense. Since you insist, why not.

May I add, sure looks like easy access to those Xantrex inverters, don't you think? That is an interesting grille set-up. Nice option back in '98 too. Looks kind of different being next to the inverters kind of........

You're very welcome Ken. We have met some very nice Newell owners as well as those who drive Newells for the drivers who don't drive their own coaches to the track. Those guys also have interesting Newell stories. We are now (2013) semi-retired so if anyone finds theirself at the 12 hours of Sebring (March), 24 hours of LeMans (June) or the Petit LeMans in Atlanta (October) our only races hereafter, please come by Vanessa'a Hospitality Service and introduce yourself so we can enjoy a glass of wine and get to know more of the Newell family. (hopefully, with our reduced schedule we can attend a mini rally soon.)

Do we need more hints or do you want the veil lifted?

I will post some finally pictures after lunch and reveal the truth behind this little scheme of mine. It sure turned out a lot longer thread than I ever anticipated. Until I come back, anyone wanting to throw in anything in about it, help yourself.
