Default Speedometer 1980 Newell

Speedometer quit on our trip to Branson MO. I would assume it is the cable? Does Newell still carry this cable? Is their some other component associated with the speedometer I should look into first? We have 156K miles on this speedometer.

The speedometers for Newells in the 1970s and early 1980s were driven through a small reduction drive located on the forward engine bulkhead, driver's side. You will see a speedo cable input and an output. Over time, these gears will wear out and strip.
