Default Clock replacement idea

I have what I think is the original built in original alarm clock and it recently quit working. It does not light up. Anyone have an idea what may have went wrong with it?

Hi Sparky!

I had to replace a digital clock before and couldn't find a duplicate of the original so I bought one at a electronics store and made a trim to go around it so that it fit the original cut out. Maybe if there would have been an established site like this I may have found a better solution. I can easily see how a site like this could come in real handy for the diy owners. Maybe someone else coming on here can point us in a better direction for a replacement. I have noticed that my current Newell has a similar clock to my previous but slightly different features. So, there are more than one design that looks very close to the same.
