Default 'NEW COACH NUMBERS ?'

~ 'Newell Coaches : DEDICATED NUMBERS ?' ~
»»»»»»»»»» 'NewellClassic.com' ««««««~»»»»»» 'NewellClassic.com' ««««««««««
«~» Did I overlook a post, a segment, a streak or something ?
A jump from the 800 series to the 1200 series occurred or is 'Alzheimer's'
getting the best of me again ? I guess the pills don't really work for me ?
or do they ? Just can't remember ! Hummm !

«~» In the current Newell Show Coaches, (»CLICK HERE for the Show Coaches page«) (a new
window will open, look towards the bottom of the page)
We can perceive Coach numbers ;
~ 2007 Coach Number 801 or 815
~ 2007 Coach Number 1207 & Higher

In the same manufacturing year ! That's a whopping (+ or -) 400 Coaches later !
And we were all told that only 44 conversions per year were ever built !

Now, if only there were an explanation. Hummmm!

What would have been coach 817 actually became 1200; so far as I know there are no coaches numbered 817-1199. Someone else will have to answer the 'why' part.

I'm also not really sure about calling a Newell coach a 'conversion'.

I meant to say 44 Newell Coaches per year not bus conversions. Sorry.

Very perceptive to notice this, and worthy of an explanation.

Newell started sequential production numbers for tracking coaches in their internal data system in 1983. For maximum usefulness, this production number also became the last four digits of the VIN.

In recent years, people began to assume that the coach production number/VIN reflected the total number of Newells built since the company was founded in 1967. Not so, but hard to get out the word. So beginning with 1213, the production number/VIN was moved ahead to reflect the actual coach number since the first Newell was built. We are currently completing 1229.

Sorry for the confusion.
