70's replacement window seals any ideas ?
Has anyone replaced the 'seals' around the sliding windows on a early 70's coach? Like anyting it does not look hard if you have the right product to replace it.
Thanks for your thoughts on the matter.

hi Phoenix,
it always helps us to know a bit more about you. what year of coach do you have or looking at, your background (like how mechanically inclined are you, etc)
anyway, welcome to the site.
i assume you are talking about the felt around the inside of the frame?
a few of us have totally redone some of our windows, to include taking out and replacing the felt, nylon tracks etc. i replaced some of the rubber seals holding the windows in as well.
though it is some work and takes some cleverness, the biggest issue is finding the right materials and not the work. it helps if you know what manufacturer of windows are in your coach. sometimes there is a label on the window frame itself.
when you give a bit more info, we will be able to help you better.
thanks
tom

For my 1977 coach I got the felt from the parts department at Newell. Installing it was tedious but not hard. The windows seal better and slide better.

Thanks for the lead, I will have to bite the felt and give them a call and get some. I'm seriously thinking about getting some thermal pane windows made and replacing them and reduce the condensation factor a bit.
As far as mechanical aptitude, Stupid enough to not be affraid to figure anyting out. ...

i replaced my windows with new thermopane series 1800 from penninsula glass (motion glass). they are pricey, but they are the best....
the only ones i didnt replace were the drivers and passenger and those i re-did completely so they are almost like new.
talk to jeff kemp at penninsula.
