keep down the cost of Tire Rotation?
Hello,
We have been pretty much full time RV'ing for 6 months in our Newell Coach Motor Home and, at 6 months,it was recommended to us that we should have our tires rotated. Now, Michelin has an excellent book that you can get a hard copy or down load a .pdf file called the Recreational Vehicle Tire Guide; How to Get the Most from Your Tires. In this book, on the subject of tire rotation, it says "If correct tire pressure and proper alignment are both continually maintained, tire rotation may never be needed. ...tire rotation may be needed to...even out wear patterns.... Follow your motor home manufacturers' rotation service recommendations.
I know you are suppose to replace tires every 6 or 7 years even if they do not show the signs that suggest replacement. At $300 to rotate 6 tires and $300 for a new tire, you could replace just the front ones (if they showed signs of uneven wear) every two years and be ahead of the game.
Do you know of any tire rotation guidelines to cut down on costs and still be safe?
