Stayed there a couple of times...Lots of canadian dollars!!! Most spoke french. Great spot to stay while playing local golf courses...Must be at least 300 RV spots. But not much for club house...

We spent 3 months down there a few years ago around this same time of year. We didn't mind it and got to enjoy some things in the area between South Padre and Corpus Christi. We checked out the Texas State Aquarium and went horseback riding several times. The area is really more family oriented than probably retiree friendly. All in all I believe you will get used to the gaukers. Now you know how celebrities feel. You have to remember that most RVers do not roll in luxury coaches or stay in exotic resorts so most only see these highend luxury coaches on the highway flying by them, rest areas or maybe at a fueling stops.
