Default What does it mean when an Google Android deivice supports 3G?

Actually I'm referring to an Adroid based netbook and it states that it supports 3G USB-Dongle, WCDMA, EVDO standard. What does this actually mean? I figured you tech savvy folks would know. Thanks

3G is the third generation of mobile phone mobile communications standards. Most of the push now is for 4G LTE, which may or may not really be a true 4G. Hopefully this explanation has you as confused as me
