Default help with aux air compressor

Hi, not sure this question belongs here as I don't see many tech questions. I own a 1999 Newell 42' #526

I need to find out just how the 110 vac aux pump gets its voltage. I see no circuit breakers nor can I trace the line from the air regulator as it goes into the padding for the generator bay.

The aux pump does not run and we need to keep start starting the engine to flush the toilet. Thanks, Art Bjornestad

On our '92, there is a rocker switch labeled "aux comp" on the wall on the left side of the driver's seat near where your left leg would be. This switch turns our aux compressor on & off. It should come on at +/- 70 psi on the supply air dash gauge and shut off at +/- 90 psi. Time between cycles should be at least 45 minutes to be in spec. I think there is a 12v compressor on some models that run the toilet, air doors etc. but there is not on on our coach so I can't help you with that.

Hello Art, Not sure where to locate a 110 breaker other than your breaker board in the rear of the coach(bedroom or rear closet) but don't you have a 12 volt air pump that runs the toliet and pocket doors when you are dry camping and not running the gEnny. If not maybe your air compressor is powered through your inverter and if so, check to make sure that it is functioning correctly. Good luck wish I could be more help. I am sure some of the other guys with more knowledge will also post with some help.

On my '98 which should be similar to yours the switch to turn on both the 110v and 12v compressors are on the panel above the microwave. The 110v breakers should be in the rear closet where there are also a few 12v fuses. There are also a bunch of 12v fuses behind the kick panel in front of the passenger seat.
Also there are a few breakers near the inverter.
The 12v compressor should supply the pocket doors, slide bladders, and air toilet when the 110v compressor is not running. It is also possible to attach a portable compressor in the rear passenger side engine compartment by making a simple adapter to plug into the air supply there. Any air compressor would work.

Exactly what Oliver said mine is 512 and it's right there too. A lot of 12 v compressors don't work though

The 110v current to the air compressor in the generator compartment should be supplied from a pressure switch located in the right front compartment. I would check to see if power is getting to the pressure switch since the switch may be bad. This is a very common air compressor shutoff switch.

My 12v compressor was burned up on my coach. Instead of replacing it I have a large co2bottle that I use to refill the smaller bottles for my race car. I removed the compressor and plumbed in the co2 instead. I have only used it on 1 extended ( 4 day dry camping trip) and it worked great. The bottle was still full after the trip.
As long as there are no air leaks it should work. Paul

Please let us know what the final solution is. We all kind of file it away for future reference.
