I ended up installing a Norcold refrigerator/freezer in the bay of my coach. 12 VDC or 120 VAC seamless switch over and very minimal current draw. You can choose either refrigerator mode or true deep freeze mode.

Go with a norcold 12 or 120. It can operate as Fridge or Freezer and actually has a function where it can be compartmentalized and have both at the same time. We use it regularly but not all the time on our previous newell. It will need to be accounted for when dry camping as it uses extra power from the batteries if you so choose to dry camp.

Although many people put freezers in unventilated compartments and don't have any problems, the manuals for the Engel and Norcold units say not to.
