i have a ford f350 diesel truck and my wife had me look into running veggie oil quite a bit. it certainly does work. i have seen a converted f350. having said that i decided not to do the conversion. for a newell with a 300 gallon fuel tank, you would have to hit up A LOT of restaurants to get that much. beggin for wast vegetable oil in a newell seems a little strange. the other side effect is one that only matters if you dont like the smell of french fries. if you like the smell of french fries and want to have it with you all the time, than this is the conversion for you. there was a bluebird wanderlodge that was converted on ebay last month that was for rent.

i am a big fan of green technology and use geothermal to heat and air condition my cabin. that said, the smell of french fries permeating everything i own while on the road in my coach isnt exactly what i am after.

- "A Little Humor"
- Tom's quote :
- "i have a ford f350 diesel truck and my wife had me look into running veggie oil"

- Hi Tom,
- In regards of the upper quote ;
- Perhaps this was a sign from your wife, telling you . . . "stop working on the Newell and
instead, come start running veggie oil in the kitchen ! (or something like that !)
- >'running' : >'Running a Stove,' >A Woman's term for cooking >for getting the 'Man in the
House' >not to confuse with >'The Man of the House' >Old Term Used by of Fathers . . .

Now, On the serious side :

- Thanks for your 'Great Personal Info' on running Veggie Oil.
- Yep, as you say, certainly not the kind of fuels for a 'Traveling Newell.'
- But for University Youngsters, that just might be the 'Flower Power Kind Of Generation
Thing' that hopefully be able to help this crying world.

- Does-it really smell 'French Fries' or 'Fish' or . . ?

- Joseph's quote :

- Joseph,
- Yep, when I read ". . . is making me hungry"
. . . well 'Deep Fried Turkey' came to my mind.

- I still remember the first time I tasted this type of Southern Cooking.

- Of all places in the great U.S. of A, where would one eat a Deep Fried Bird ?

- Of course, 'Bird Island Basin' located on Padre Island National Seashore !
- On Thanksgiving 1990 while at the basin, a neighbor windsurfer from 'Alabama' had
brought his complete equipment for deep frying. The chap had many friends that day.
- The Bird Basin is one of the most popular 'Windsurfing Spots' in the country.
- It's dry camp (boondocking) but you wake-up in the morning and the rear of your motor-
home is at 3 feet from the water, what a place !

- I don't know if everyone reading this post has ever eaten 'Deep Fried Turkey,' a taste to
discover. 'Deep Fried Turkey' is Not Greasy at all ; it's M-O-I-S-T and D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S !

- You've certainly got to try-it ! . . Hum, hum Good !

- Thinking about my Cardiologist, he better not read this post or I may have to find another
Cardio ! - ops: He wouldn't like reading this post.

As I walked into work this morning, a service is pumping out the grease trap for our cafeteria.

All you need to do was smell that putrid smell, and know that this boy is not going diving in waste grease pits to put into his toy. I don't care if it is free.

I am not squeamish, and certainly not afraid to get dirty, but my friend that smell would gag a maggot.

- Re : Deep Fry Type Of Oils 'French Fries oils and . . .'
- I've read that a number of cities had their Public Transit Buses running on BIODIESEL,
the type that comes from agro-industry waste (10% non-food-grade vegetable oil,
45% recycled cooking oil (the deep fry type of oils like in 'French Fries oils and similar'
taken from fast food restaurants) and 45% animal fat.

- This Type of Biodiesel, 'Renewable Fuels' takes care of 'Existing Waste' and 'Recycles-It!'
They add waste to the fuel. Otherwise, these products would be dumped or discarded into
the environment possibly releasing methane, and creating Greenhouse Gases.

- Me neither, not my cup of tea, I guess someone has to do the dirty job :!:

- Like I wrote : "I see-it as : for University Youngsters, that just might be the 'Flower Power
Kind Of Generation Thing' that hopefully be able to help this crying world.

» "Pig Fat To Be Used As Fuel . . . Hmmm . . . Yummy !"
~~~~~~~~~~~'NewellClassic.com'~~~~~~~~~~'NewellCla ssic.com'~~~~~~~~~~~
April 16, 2007 / Houston and Springdale, Ark. /
» » ConocoPhillips and Tyson Foods Announce Strategic Alliance
» » » » » » » » » » » » » To Produce Next Generation Renewable Diesel Fuel
ConocoPhillips and Tyson Foods, Inc.
as announce a strategic alliance. CDT today to produce and market the next generation of
renewable diesel fuel
.
The alliance plans to use beef, pork and poultry by-product fat to create petro fuel.
Tyson will begin pre-processing animal fat from some of its North American rendering faci-
lities later in the year
.
ConocoPhillips will produce the fuel in several of its refineries. The finished product will be
renewable diesel fuel mixtures that meet all federal standards for ultra-low-sulfur diesel.
Production is expected to ramp up over time to as much as 175 million gallons per year
of renewable diesel
.
The addition of animal fat also improves the fuel’s ignition properties, while the proces-
sing step improves its storage stability and handling characteristics.
Production is expected to begin in late calendar year 2007, ramping up through spring
2009, Bond said.
Benefits of Renewable Diesel ;
» Produces lower life-cycle carbon emissions ;
» Increases energy security by using a domestic and renewable energy source ;
» Can be used in today’s vehicles ;
» Can be produced and distributed with existing refineries and fuel distribution systems ;
» Refinery quality control systems ensure product quality ;
» This fuel will contribute to America’s energy security and help to address climate change
concerns ;
» This alliance will provide a new and significant contribution to our nation’s domestic re-
newable fuel supply ;
» Help increase the supply of renewable fuels and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
