Oil Change & analysis on recently acquired newell coach
From Laguna, CA and was dreaming of newell ownership for years now & 6 months ago I purchased a Newell. Since my newell coach was acquired I have made a fair amount of repairs to make her road worthy once again, well atleast to my standards anyway. The final item on the list was to change the oil and fluids now my question is can a 6V92TA be converted to a spin on filter? Any pro/cons to either setup. I would guess a little easier to remove and one less rag & clean up after. Also, I removed nearly 6.5 gals of oil and am concerned I maybe getting fuel into the oil supply. It did not look thin, and color looked like dirty diesel waste oil. I am going to send out a sample for analysis.
Any additional thoughts ??

thats sounds about the right amount of oil you should have removed, and the oil sample is also a good idea for general info.

We have a trip planned for the 1st week of October to Doheny Beach State Park. You are welcome to stop by for a beer.
***make sure that you use a CF-2 Oil for the 2 Stroke, This Oil is not as common now with the 4 Strokes. I just ordered 10 Gallons from West Marine, Dana Point.

Welcome to the Newell talk forum and website. Hope our offering is helping you with your ownership. An oil analysis is always a great idea.
Steve (prairieschooner) above is close to your home base and can give you some great pointers with that era of coach, and I'm sure he can give you the location of a lab to do your testing nearest you in SoCal.
Some good fish & chips and cold beverages right there at the Dana Point wharf. Got me thinking about those spring rides over Ortega.
Let us know how we can help.
