Default 4 Weeks is TOOOO long!!!

Well, it's only been 4 weeks since we finshed our 3,600 mile trip through Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Texas, but we hit the road again on May 21nd for Ventura, CA to celebrate Memorial Day. The trip is only about 2 hours from our home in Ontario, CA, but it could be 12 hours for all I care, because I get to drive the Newell. We arrived late Thursday night as I had a soccer meeting I had to attend before departing at 9pm. All I did was level, plug into the 50amp receptacle, and align the satellite dish. We slept in to about 8:30 Friday morning. and then I spent a couple of leisurely hours setting up my "stuff". Some of my "stuff" included the new market umbrella I bought following the example of David and Denise Zonker.....what a great way to move the shade around when your awning isn't giving the you shade where you want it! Our son's in-laws, Ed and Linda, who had arrived a few hours before us Thursday in their 2007 Fleetwood Providence 39' DP (3 slides), invited us out for lunch in Ventura so we spent a couple of hours tasting some locally made beer at the Anacapa Brewing Company....I had a couple of pints of the Oatmeal Stout, and a great bleu cheese bacon burger. Nothing like a good beer and al fresco dining! We arrived back in camp as the rest of our families arrived...my son, Chris, and his family in their 2007 Fleetwood Expedition 38' DP (4 slides) arrived around 5:30pm, followed quickly by Ed and Linda's daughter and son-in-law in a 2006 Fleetwood Tioga Class C motorhome (1 slide), and another daughter in her Fleetwood toy hauler. We set up a TV outside to watch the Cavalier/Magic game, which had an amazing ending with LeBron making a 26 foot 3 with one second left on the clock to win the game. This was pretty much our evening activity each night as the Lakers played the next night, and then the Cavaliers/Magic again last night. Had some great roaring fires as it was very cold at night with the marine layer rolling in around 5pm each evening.

Elaine and I did about 40 miles of bicycle riding over the 3 days....yesterday morning we road the Ojai Valley Bike Path 12 miles up to Ojai, CA (sea level to about 2,000' elevation) for breakfast at Starbucks, and then over to the Ventura pier to people watch for an hour, or so.

Following are a few pictures. The 3rd one was taken in front of my house just after my guy finished waxing it.

Sounds like you are the only one in the family without slides. Guess you will just have to start looking for a 1997 or newer Newell to match their square footage (you already have the best quality).

Michael, they are all jealous of our Newell....seriously, their coaches keep breaking! Ed and Linda sprung another plumbing leak under their kitchen sink. I think this is the 3rd, or 4th time they have had plumbing leaks. We have copper plumbing and they have plastic. They have payments, I don't... Chris' coach was in the shop 3 months having all the electronics replaced after their inverter fried everything (TV's, microwave, select comfort bed, DVD players, coffee pot, etc., etc., etc.).

Love it, love it, love it. Clarke, you guys do such a great job of getting all of us excited and ready to go. Pictures are great, we must start doing that as well. We are getting everything together and leave again in 4 weeks. Life is good.
